Drop Out rate and Extra Academic Opportunity
This graph shows the association of extra academic opportunites with drop out rates. This graph was suggested by our knowing that extra academic opportunity correlates positively with actual district performance. The underlying hypothesis is that extra academic opportunity makes school a more interesting place to be for the students, thus we might expect a lower drop out rate for schools with greater extra academic performance.
Though this analysis does not confirm the hypothesis, it does show there is enough association to merit further study. This will be done when time permits.
